    Find info on Aspartame on Web.
  4. Thursday April 10, 2008 - Throat better - Headache gone.
  5. Friday April 11, 2008: 2:00am I am feeling happier and significantly less numbness and tingling in my legs.
    More aches [my nerves seem to work better I think.], and significantly better vision.
    I will note, I am not consuming extra sugar, just drinking water, decaf coffee, or decaf green tea, etc. instead of diet pop.
    I will also note that it does not explain all my health problems - I was diagnosed with schizophrenia before 1981, when aspartame was approved. but I actually functioned better before giving up beer [I'm not saying beer helped me either], and started drinking diet pop.
    10:00am Pleasant breakfast at the Lodge.
    3:00pm Check ingredients and find cereal I was about to eat contains aspartame - I had some last night.
    4:30pm, after frustrations trying to do something on computer, feel numb-tingling in legs below knees while standing.
    5:30pm solved computer problem - then ate vegetables.
    6:30pm feeling better again.

    10:30pm - too tired - take meds with cheese - go to bed.
    11;00pm take Vick's brand DayQuil cold/flu medicine.
  6. Saturday April 12, 2008: 4:00am up - glucose 120 - wgt 201.5.[I have decided it is impractical to report everything here.
    I record what I eat in DietPower anyway - suffice it to say I am avoiding aspartame and sugar alcohols.]
    I will just record unusual things - e.g. it is unusual for me to go to bed before 1:00am, but not unusual to sleep only 5 hours.
    8:00am have cold symptoms - runny nose, cough, and congestion.
    10:00am Fine tuning setup on my and mom's laptops.
    11:00 Am feeling happier than usual in spite of cold. - Wish this program had spell checker however!
    12:00pm Take Vick's DayQuil
    11:00pm go to bed
    Mostly work on computer and reading.
  7. Sunday April 13, 2008: 7:00am get up - mostly over cold.
    11:00am attend church - sleepy [unusual] on way.
    Feeling hungrier and colder than usual - also noticing visual details more.
    3:30pm Walk 1 mile
    4:30pm Perception of time has changed. Everything seems to happen faster and be less boring.
    Work on laptops [backup failed] - chkdsk & norton till 3:00am
  8. Monday April 14, 2008 - Up at 8:00am. 8:15 am Get backups started on both laptops.
    12:00pm walk 1 mile.
    2:00 pm Physical therapy on neck.
    3:00 pm Backups completed successfully.
    3;30 pm Feel better [ from therapy?]
    So far main improvements which I might attribute to stopping aspartame are greatly improved perception, feeling of happiness and well-being. Not much difference in legs or feet.
    Talk philosophy with a friend(situation semantics etc.)
    Doze some in evening.

    8:45pm Looking for a possible bug in my web statistics program [I thought there should be more "accesses" of ".bmp" or ".BMP" files] - but I found nothing wrong. The colors in the screen suddenly stuck me as they never had before. I checked and see the same thing on the TV. And also, but less so, just around the room.

    Last night reading about bipolar disorder [see my reading] I read anxiety can cause numbness and tingling. I don't think I had been told that. I knew I wasn't making it up. My psychiatrist mostly hinted it was my diabetes and my family doctor [who took care of the diabetes] denied this while suggesting it might be my psychiatric meds [ which my psychiatrist, it seemed, wouldn't comment on.] I do know that, at times, lately, when I just relaxed, a wonderful healthy feeling would come over me. Unfortunately, it seems, I am unable to stay, so relaxed, while doing anything - more than listening to music.

    5. I am still hearing voices most of the time - but they just cause me to expect events which never do happen - so I am always realizing they are [after all] false - though they must have a sub-conscious effect.

    Have noticed greater ability to read last few days - see my reading. I seem to understand the math and physics better than I did as a freshman in college. I think I was in very poor condition mentally in college - due to anxiety - or the cream [cortisone] for my skin - an acquaintance suggested my symptoms - skin getting better when I put the cream on and then getting worse - suggests I had an infection. I am much better able to see the significance of what is covered in the texts now than I was able to then. I am trying to read a chapter a day in both Feynman and Strang - and a little [a page or few pages] in several other books. I am still hearing "voices" at times however.
    Is any of the improvement due to stopping aspartame? - hard to say - but I am not going back!!!

    After I was up a while, I started feeling lousy. I also noticed a small red circle on my right upper arm, when taking a bath. I lay down and had to use 3 blankets but still felt cold. After a couple hours [ it was longer than it seemed so I may have slept a little], I got up and watched a little football [Bears]. Skipping QCUU and NAMI today. I think this is probable a flu, and has nothing to do with sugar-alcohols.
    3:30pm feeling better after laying down again. Decide to skip daily walk and daily brs scan. Just taking noon meds.

    Usher at QCUU Service - I found it very stressful and was hearing voices.
    I think I should avoid this in the future.
    I try to relax but I get a bad headache - take aspirin
    I get groceries - as the weather may get worse
    My headache disappeared!
    I do reading
    I am finding myself very successful understanding Feynman - and am trying to be thorough in making sure I do so.
    With Boolos and Jeffrey, I am having much more trouble - at this point I am mainly trying to understand WHAT they are proving but not the details of how.
    I have trouble understanding Barnes, as compared to Feynman, and am not trying as hard on it as Feynman seems to be more current anyway [hanging on as it does to D and H. Lewis I am understanding, but he writes in a way I must go through slowly, and I have so much to think about in his ideas that I cannot go very fast. - I think he has many good points, but I have to integrate them into my own thoughts.
    Pauling writes well, most of the material so far is familiar, but I am very rusty with it. I am going slowly as I am concentrating mainly on Feynman now.
